In 1943, Lord Mountbatten demonstrated the bulletproof nature of the sawdust-water mix of pykrete for project Habakkuk. Both Roosevelt and Churchill were present.
When he fired his gun, the bullet supposedly ricocheted and lodged in Admiral King's leg.
Besides the massive egg on the face of whichever country didn't lose its leader, what would be some of the effects if either is killed?
It's probably too late for the disaster of For all Time if FDR goes down, but on the other hand, British American relations would take a huge hit among the public, especially when the full details come out later. I'm thinking it might lead to a fully Red Germany, or a much smaller Western Allied West Germany if it exists at all.
If it's Churchill, would he be replaced by Eden or would it be Halifax? I'd imagine Bomber Command gets reduced in scope due to no more Churchill-Harris. You'd probably butterfly quite a few special projects due to the increased official skepticism.
