in 2012, Vladimir putin was re-elected President of Russia in a controversial election that sparked protests and rumours of rigging.
let us say that before the election, putin suffered a stroke and died in 2011, whay happens next?
I think Medvedev remains President, and Russia perhaps ticks along. But whay are rhe wider consequences?
a part of me wonders if Russia enters a period of significant political turmoil that enables a western backed leader to take charge, thus removing the annexation of Crimea etc?
