Puritans Go Elsewhere?

WI the Puritans went to South America instead? How much influence might they have had despite the region being mostly Catholic?

I think it'd have been interesting if the Pilgrims stayed in the Netherlands and then later settled in New Netherlands. In fact, I've thought of doing a "What If The Plymouth Colony Failed" timeline.

Where in South America would they go? If they go somewhere more populated by Spanish colonists, there could be religious tension. The Puritans were not always so accepting of those worshiping other religions/other sects.

If they went to a place that has less people, they may die from famine from lack of farming skills or sickness with no assistance.

Maybe they could go to Dutch Guiana. They would prefer a Protestant majority area, or an unclaimed one, to a Catholic majority colony, like New Granada or Brazil. The big question is whether or not the local tribes would decide to help them, as they would probably still have a terrible first year with their lack of farming ability.
