By the time Purandokht, Khosrau II's daughter, became the Sassanid empress in 629, Sassanid Persia was in a degraded state because of the prolonged wars with the Byzantine Empire and also the quick succession of mostly incompetent monarchs afterwards. She died of natural causes only a couple of years into her reign, as far as I know. When she was the empress, she attempted to improve the Persian Empire through more stability, more justice, and reconstruction of the infrastructure, among other things. Would it have made a difference to Persia, including to better withstand the Arab invasions, if Purandokht had lived longer?
