Public Reaction If JFK Assassination Was An 'Inside Job'?

Disclaimer: I do not follow or support this conspiracy theory in any way shape or form, and neither should you.

Piggybacking off of the multitude of threads about various alternate groups and people assassinating JFK, what if the assassination was an 'inside job'? What if the CIA, MIC, or any other government group or individual was found responsible for the assassination? And what would the public's reaction be if this information ever went public?

Well many already believe it was an inside job, including me if I may be so blunt.

But if the CIA just said it was an inside job, I really don't think much would happen. Americans don't trust the government as it is so they would just think "well the government lied to us again".

Complete shattering of trust in government. If you think Vietnam and Watergate were bad in this regard, then you haven't seen anything. If actual legitimate verified evidence were to get out that domestic intelligence agencies and whomever else may have been involved had killed their own commander-in-chief, then it would be a very long time before people trusted the government again.

Conspiracy theories would also be viewed in a much different light. Every event that looked even the slightest bit conspiratorial would be viewed warily. You'd probably see a revival of the "FDR let Pearl Harbor happen" theories, and given these circumstances, they wouldn't just go away. Anyone who came forward as an expert against the conspiracy crowd would likely be shunned as a cover-up shill. The Warren Report would also be completely impeached, and the legacies of Warren, Ford, and the rest would be ruined.

There would be plenty of politicians running under an anti-government mantra, and they would be extremely popular with the public. Everyone who was even suspected of being involved in the conspiracy and cover-up would have their legacies tarnished. LBJ, Nixon, Ford, and Bush Sr. would almost certainly never become president, given how the conspiracy crowd likes to implicate all of them.

And why do you believe it was an inside job, if you'll explain?

Remember you have the right to remain silent.

I believe it was an inside job for several reasons, but instead of copying and pasting pretending it's my info please read through this page:

Wait what? Seriously? But alternate history is full of conspiracy theories.

No, that's alternative history. This is alternate history.

I've never seen this article before, but wow. This almost looks like it was ripped straight from Stone's JFK. The entire article is based off conjecture and outright lies, sourced from witnesses who aren't credible. I've seen this kind of thing a million times before, and it always follows the same "Military-industrial complex killed JFK because of Vietnam" mixed with the usual appeal to emotion. It even states that the Zapruder Film was doctored. Those CIA bunch sure were crafty.

The rest of the site is no better. It's nothing but right-wing conspiracy ravings with a religious undercurrent and a healthy pro-Trump bias. Yeah, I'm not convinced.

Do you think that the public reaction may differ depending on the time period. Would they react differently if this came out in modern times than in the 60s?

If anything, I think that people now are so jaded and cynical about politics that there will be the standard social media outrage for 3 weeks and it will mostly go away afterwards. However, the long term effect will likely be a deepened cynicism and increased support for true outsider anti-establishment candidates.

Many people may now believe, it was an 'inside job' in some form. But to get a public reaction - there would have needed to have been more evidence at the time, for a majority of the public to know it. But then it may be what effects depend on what sort of 'inside job' - makes a difference if it was the CIA or VP Johnson!!

These kinds of questions are hard to answer. What would be the PoD? It we are (reasonably) assuming the official narrative of the assassination, we can't just go back and say what if the CIA did it? They may have chosen to do it in a completely different way and done a better or worse job of covering it up.

Not another JFK conspiracy guy.

Looks at the link... Aw Jeez...

For "proof" you link to a site that, quite literally, proclaims Obama is the ANTICHRIST. Seriously?

This is not a site to trot out insane theories. You get ONE chance on this infraction. This is that chance. Run out either this or any other nutty lizard men/Truther crap and you WILL be Banned on the spot.
