Prussia defeated - The fate of Poland?

I have posted a few threads about a Franco-Austrian alliance following the defeat of Prussia in either the Seven Weeks War or the Franco-Prussian War. If as I have tried to argue a Franco-Austrian alliance could be maintained (with or without an aligned Italy and Southern German states) I am wondering about Poland.

France has a long history of pro-Polish sentiment. Prussia will have been defeated. Austria will have won its war but perhaps only on France's coattails. Is there a plausible scenario that this speeds up the creation of a free Poland?

The 7-years war timeline would probably butterfly teh partitions as we know them.

To remake a free poland you certainly had to include the Russian parts of Poland (can't imagine a Poland made of Galicia + the Prussians gains only. So a French win in the war of 1870/71 would do nothing to further an independent Poland -sorry...

Remember the majority of Poles and historic* Poland were under Russian control so I don't think a better result in the Seven Weeks War or the Franco-Prussian War would do much, though you could get a Polish majority Duchy of West Prussia created or something like that.

*i.e. pre 1945 and the Polonisation of areas which had always been German.

Well, not always been german, but had been for centuries and thats what counted to the natives of the area.

Silesia north of Oder always had a significant Slavic population, although in Lower Silesia they became a minority later on, in Rural Upper Silesia they are always a majority.

Defeat of Prussia would be gift from God for Poles, as Prussians were most interested in partitions, Russians were content with vassal status of Poland and Austrians get their bits of PLC only to keep balance, becouse neighboring powers strenghtened themselves absorbing Polish lands.

AFAIK, during the 7YW there were talks of Poland being given East Prussia in exchange of Polish Livonia and Courland going to Russia.
