Has anyone read the new Protector series written by Simon Roy? In a future history in the wake of a climate related population collapse, the alien Devas are attempting to rebuild the biosphere, incidentally allowing their worshippers (the slaving descendents of Asian climate refugees) the Hudsoni access to the Great Lakes and the large populations ripe for the taking at the edge of the American desert. A Yanqui slave priestess escapes her master, only to wake a "demon" from underneath the Great Midden of Shikka-Go. The Hudsoni are tasked with destroying the ancient NATO war cyborg, or the Devas have promised to incinerate it, along with anything within 30 miles. It's one issue in so far and well worth a read.

I think issue two comes out next week. It's a miniseries for now but I'm hoping it keeps going, I really like Simon Roy's work.
