Pro's and cons of expelling/forced converting non-Christians in Iberia

What are the pro's and cons for the Kings and Queen of Iberian States to convert non-Christians or banish them?

Like, what kind of advantage could they have had if they did not expelled them? Or what could have gone wrong if they did not?

Well iirc the expulsion of the muslims caused a crisis in agriculture, specially in places were they were more numerous like Valencia, since they were the ones that knowed how to operate the irrigation systems. In fact local christian lords begged the catholic monarchs to let the muslims stay just enough time to teach the newly arrived christian colonist to operate the land. As for the jews, their expultion signified the pass of the iberian financial system from the iberian jews to the english and italian merchants and bankers.
I read that their expultion provoked a century of reccesion but I am not sure if I remember correctly.

Conversion is costly, tricky, can give too much power to the Church. Tolerance means you can have more unrest, diversity, and if somehow the Muslim come back, the emergence of a fourth column. Expulsion means loss of population, know-how, and a general reduction in economy.

However: conversion could make the country stronger and more unified, tolerance means you get the most intellectual growth, and expulsion is very tempting in the short term for money seized and possibilities for the citizens who stay.
