I can think of one better; splitting a super continent with one tiny (length wise) canal.
How about splitting an even bigger super continent with a (somewhat longer) canal.
That also works.
With that kind of mega-project, wouldn’t it be better just to build a canal from Moscow to the Baltic?
Clearly it wasn't massive enough for the Soviets.
If there is one thing communists love more than killing nobility and proving their superiority to capitalists, its impracticality.
With GIANT STATUES! And awesome propaganda.
THE MOST MASSIVE STATUES!!!!!!!
Of the People's Endeavour. And other suitable buzzwords.
Also MASSIVE PAINTINGS OF THE LEADER!
Each painting get bigger with each leader, to highlight their greater devotion to communism than their predecessor.
And to show how much they love the people, by looming over them constantly.
I found something really interesting regarding dividing California in the 1850s. But the language used is so confusing and I was wondering if I could get some help visualizing it. "thence, thence, thence, thence" ah shoot me.
A map of California at the time for reference.
Here's an info-graphic about that:
Who doesn't like a good canal?
Egyptians, Panamanians, the land itself?
Decided to look up a couple Mideast Peace Proposals for shits n giggles:
Also decided to look up good ole "AMERICA WILL FALL APART" maps for shits n giggles:
And for something interesting, predictions about Russia collapsing
and "best" of all...
One of your images is not seeable
This isn’t Russia collapsing, that’s an alternate history map.
Actually, the canal was never built, it's just the restoration of a distributary that flowed during ancient times (Uzboy river). It would probably be more effective and less damaging if they done that instead of the more complicated and inefficient system they actually built
Myself am more in favor of digging a canal at sea level via the Manych and flooding the Caspian depression instead, which would make the local climate slightly better
Ah, apologies then. Couple headlines on the images on google were "citing" News Sources. Didn't feel like checking them out, so that's on me.
