Proposals and War Aims That Didn't Happen Map Thread

I'm going to bend the rules a little bit and post about a proposal that may happen in the future.
Apparently, there is a new defensive pact formed between Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger called the Alliance of Sahel States
The group formed for a number of reasons, including a defensive pact to try and curbstomp the Jama'a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin, a terrorist group linked to Al-qaeda, and separatists in Mali and Niger (mostly Mali). It also formed as a way for each of these nations to defend each others governments from ECOWAS, since all 3 governments are currently Russian-backed military juntas. They are also apparently anti-french, although I don't know how far that goes or what exactly it means. They are also trying to "pool resources to build energy and communications infrastructure, establish a common market, implement a monetary union under proposed currency the Sahel, allow free movement of persons, enable industrialization, and invest in agriculture, mines and energy sectors". What led me to posting about this here is that apparently they are trying to federalize into a single sovereign state.
What exactly that will mean for peace in the region, I am unsure. It could mean that this state becomes a powerhouse in the near future, but the opposite is equally true as none of these countries are particularly wealthy and have a high degree of corruption. Though these 2 issues may pale in comparison to the fact it is run my a military junta with people who may just as easily find themselves competing for power.
If this were Hoi4 though, it would be the reunified Songhai Empire resurrected in the 21st century

My first thought was the Mali(-nese) Empire since I always thought that both the longest lasting and the people in this region identifying primarily as Malinese/Mdinka.

So do you think that means that Russia will just do the same thing as france, or will they be different? I read that apparently AES is using the Wagner group to assist them militarily in their fight against the islamists, which seems like a less direct version of what France, on the surface at least

I don't know tbh, I don't think Russia has anywhere near the same historical relations with these countries, but I don't exactly think that a Russia whose ruling political class is mostly composed of ethnic and religious supremacists will give a shred of a thought to the well being of the Malian, Burkinabe or Nigerian populations.

Which may be even "better" for some of african leaders! If you´re dictator, ally who doesn´t have at least to pretend concerns about human rights and liberties is better, I believe.
Though we are quite off topic and dangerously close to current politics now, I am affraid.

There will be some similarities, but Russia, like China, is on the hunt for resources and markets and does not even pretend to care about human rights or democracy.

Here is a worlda patch for the japanese land disposal plan. Keep in mind that not only did they not win the war, but also often disregarded this idea whenever it was inpractical (for example in indochina, or the Philippines)

Hitler supposedly gave them the entire Pacific because he figured he wouldn't have to deal with anything except the planned eventual conquest(?)/defeat of the United States. So whoever came after him and after that war would then go on to conquer the Japanese Empire and then Germany would rule the world.

i don’t think Hitler had any plans on that sort of thing. He expected it would take generations to swallow up European Russia. No need to start up a new World War Two quickly before you secure your conquests. Then they would just have the Chinese as their competitors instead.

He didn't expect to be alive and presumably the Japanese would've fought China to the death by then.

well I was mainly working of off wikipedia, which has a summery of the "Land Disposal Plan in the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". The only things that are not from there (if my memory doesn't fail me) is the mengjangi qinghai and subdivisions of states that already existed in 1941
