The Union of Sovereign States, a failed proposal to reorganize and keep the Soviet Union alive. All but 6 of the 15 Soviet republics ratified the New Union Treaty in April 1991, but due to the August Coup, the treaty was never officially signed.
Someone should do some scenario abou thissnip
Isn't the wash (the big inlandy bit in England) basically hell to ship stuff through because it's basiically a big ass swamp with a bunch of big rocks thrown in that yeet any ship tryna go through?
Sudan wanted to be in the Federation of Arab Republics. There also was the Arab Islamic Republic, proposed in January 1974 between Tunisia and Libya, and Gaddafi even proposed Morocco and Tunisia to be in the AIR.
At that time, there were more plans about subdivision of hypotetical united Germany. I found about Gustav Struve but am not able to find map, however it should contain: Upper, Middle and Lower Rheinland, Svabia, Franconia, Hesse, Vestphalia, Thuringia, Upper and Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Meklenburg, Brandenburg, Prussia, Pomerania, Silesia, Bohemia, Moravia, Bavaria, Austria, Styria, Tyrol and Illyria (maybe otl Ilyr kingdom, with Terst as capital). It isn't so bad. Thuriginia and Saxony had some overlap with names and territory in the past, and the Ernestine and Albertine Duchies were called Saxony at various times. There is a Saxony here already, so they gave the other the name of Thuringia. Might be ways to explain the Palantine part as the Wittlesbasch consolidating their various dynasty lands there, and the Prince-Bishoprics, though as those were straddling the rather than being in one side, it does indeed not fit here. Heck, I think the that much of the Rhine was only ever a border when the Entente were occupying it, and even then there were a lot of cities occupied on the far backs. Well, not counting during the First Republic.
Wasn't the UAR also in some kind of loose federation with North Yemen?
This is missing the Arab Federation of Jordan and Iraq.
Lol, now I am lookin on some North sea bottom maps and is funny how this proposal completely ignore Doggerland...snip

oof i forgot thatIn the original proposal, Lithuania was supposed to be in the German sphere no?
Uh, this was not a real proposal. It was a self-admitted propaganda map.
kinda reminds me of the larger Loveless Land idea from Wild Wild West
I suspect it did reflect their attitude toward the unassimilated (and for that matter a lot of the assimilated) Slavs and Romanians....These Hungarian propagandists really need to watch their language...
holy shit, i hadn't even noticed thatThese Hungarian propagandists really need to watch their language...
