Just to provide something of a background, the Great Depression is triggered in 1931 rather than 1929. Al Smith was narrowly elected President in 1928 (despite the benefits of being buoyed by a booming economy under Democratic Party oversight), and is defeated in 1932 by Theodore Roosevelt Jr, the Republican Governor of New York. The Republicans after 14 years also manage to recapture the House and the Senate.

Now, I am unsure who would be involved in a Progressive Republican Administration, especially one seeking to emulate the New Deal (though with certain variances). I am fairly certain that Herbert Hoover would be involved, having not been poisoned by his OTL administration. I have also previously been suggested Henry Wallace, who would here have likely remained a Republican albeit Liberal, though I am fairly certain that would pose problems with Hoover given their history.

Any thoughts?
