Probability of English-Scottish Personal Union

With any random POD happening in 1500, what is the probability of a lasting union being formed between the English and Scottish crowns?

I'm talking probability, old chap.

...Oh. In that case, fairly low. The extinction of the Tudors was, IMO, a pretty contingent affair, and the fact that James VI just happened to be the next in line was kind of unlikely as well.

I can see there being a "personal union" where the king of England is also king of Scotland after kicking seven shades of shit out of the scots, a la Henry V and France, but peacably... not so much.

Religion must also play a part here. Union is much less likely if England and Scotland aren't both Protestant (and growing opposed to mostly Catholic powers like France and Spain).

In that case Scotland would still be closely tied to France. I think in the 1500s or 1600s a Dauphin was also king-consort of Scotland (I forget who exactly). Maybe there could be a Franco-Scottish union instead?
