Pristina airport WW3

Okay so during the Balkan wars General Wesley Clark ordered his British subordinate to attack a bunch of Russians based at pristina airport.

What if the attack had gone through?

How would WW3 have gone?

Would it have happened?

Well, for a beginning, say goodbye to singer James Blunt and "You're beautiful". He was right there and bragged later he had avoided a major crisis. :p

Russia would get apology and their own peaxekeeping zone in Kosovo as a sign of good will and apology. Less Serbians and other would be expelled from Kosovo and Serbian minority in Kosovo would be more happy. Kosovars would be bit pissed but they will need to shut up and told to be happy they got some help at all after insurgency they started. If there would be smaller independent Kosovo is question.

Have you heard of the Serbian ethnic cleansing?

I thought not. It’s not a story the Americans would tell you. It’s an Albanian legend. Milosevic was a President of the Serbs, so powerful and so wise he could use the powers nationalism to influence the army to extinguish life… He had such a knowledge of nationalism that he could even keep his people happy despite them going hungry. Nationalism is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he called for early elections after being bombed by the Americans, and, shortly after losing at the ballot, his opponent arrested him while he was asleep. Ironic. He could order others to be arrested, only to end up arrested himself.

Yes and I heard of some 200000 Serbians, Gypsies and other nationalities who left Kosovo after Kosovo war was over. I also heard collective guilt is out of fashion. But I guess I was wrong.
Just wonder why it is so popular to whitewash UCK terrorist crimes.

I see. I understand where you are coming from.

No you don't. You actually still think UCK were better then Miloshevich's goons from paramilitary units while they were same murders with basically same target. Ethnically clean Kosovo.

Nope. Not what I think.

There are a number of aspects to this.

It's pretty clear that Clark's order was preparatory, a "Get ready in case" order. One can arm wave past that without too much difficulty, although given that it was clear to most onlookers that it was more a fit of pique on his part, it may be a bit harder to get past than it appears at first sight.

The big stumbling block is that the person receiving the order was General Jackson, who has made it perfectly clear that if he had been given that order, he would not have obeyed it. He was quite forthright about his view of the wisdom of such an order, and one can spend many a happy hour reading the views of those in the chain of command for that incident.

Plus, Captain Blount's record label played this up for all that it was worth. A lot of the drama comes from silly people who weren't there and who can't tell the difference between a tank and an armoured reconnaissance vehicle.
