Princess Victoria Eugenie von Hesse-Darmstadt of Battenburg

One write-up referred to Victoria Eugenie as Princess Victoria Eugenie von Hesse-Darmstadt of Battenburg.
Was this not an error?
Victoria's mother was Princess Beatrice of England. Her father was Prince Henry of Battenburg.
Her aunt, Princess Alice married Prince Louis of Hesse-Darmstadt.
Thus is the Hesse-Darmstadt referral incorrect?

She was a Princess of Battenberg only.

HM Queen Ena was a descendant of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt but on a morganatic basis and therefore she had no entitlement to be styled Princess of Hesse-Darmstadt.

The Spanish government were greatly concerned about Ena's paternal background and whether it was good enough for a Spanish Queen Consort and therefore they preferred to emphasise her maternal family. Her father is not even mentioned in the marriage treaty between Ena and King Alfonso. To further convince the Spaniards, King Edward VII raised Ena to the status of HRH before the wedding.
