Princess Elizabeth dies during WW2?

She fell in love with Squadron Leader Peter Townsend but because he was divorced was forbidden to marry him. Had she been allowed to she would probably have been a lot happier and so been less likely to develop her problems.
depends, when does she start having feelings for him (she met him when she was 14). knowing she would be Queen one day, would her Father set up something (need to look who was available at the time among the Royals of Europe).

maybe she end up marrying Prince Albert of Belgium (she would have been a few years older). i know he is a Catholic so i wonder if he becomes a member of the Church of England. and if he does, who is one the Belgium Throne now.
 
Well in the 1940s smoking is simply not an issue "everybody" smoked. Drinking to excess is another. Elizabeth dying in uniform would do nothing good for British-German relations in the postwar period.
