Princess Diana's death

In a way I felt sorry for Diana. Once she became a royal she was hounded by the press. There wasnt a day that went by it seemed without her appearing on a red topped newspaper usually with the headlines.

"DIANA SEEN IN SUPERMARKET!!!! WHAT DID SHE BUY!?"

"DIANA WALKS DOWN RIGHT SIDE OF STREET! ON THE PAVEMENT!"

"DIANA SUPERMARKET SCANDAL! SHE BOUGHT FRENCH PRODUCTS!"

Whilst the Daily Nazi (Mail) would prattle on about her walking through a minefield somewhere in an African country that didn't exist until last week to save a fly covered baby or some such story.

The thing I remember most about Diana's death and the aftermath was the fact that I had been in Paris and through that tunnel a week before she died. Other than that I cant say I really cared. I was a child, didn't read the papers and knew next to nothing about her. My reaction was to think it a shame and upsetting for her family but that was about it. I watched the funeral because I like to see the big public specticles but I certainly wasn't one of those people crying their eyes out over "England's Rose". Frankly, I cared more when the Queen Mum died than I did when Diana died.

You must be confusing Sir Elton John with someone else. As far as I know, the rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated.

I'm guessing that they confused Elton John with John Denver, I've done that before. John Denver died in a plane wreck and is still missed; would have enjoyed hearing him in a duet with Sir Elton.
