Prince Léopold of Belgium Lives

Firstly, Happy New Year, and I wish everyone a joy and peace-filled year to come.

Léopold of Belgium, duc de Brabant and comte d'Hainaut was the only son of the villainous Léopold II and his Austrian wife. Unfortunately, the boy died of pneumonia in 1869. With him, the whole of his father's world shattered. Now, what would happen if Léopold hadn't fallen into that pond in '69, or at least, never contracted the pneumonia that resulted and killed him?

Probably very different Belgian Congo.

But it is difficult to say what kind of Leopold III's kingship would be. WW1 with him might be bit different in Belgium if someone still invades the country.

And probably all kings of Belgium would be called as Leopold.

Probably very different Belgian Congo.

That's what I was thinking. I was wondering if his father's desire to create an empire for Belgium would be enhanced or braked by the fact that he has a surviving son. Obviously Leopold's death butterflies away Clémentine, so thereby butterflying away all the modern Bonapartes as well (but I think we're getting ahead of ourselves)
