Prime Minister Keating Dismissed

What if, like Gough Whitlam of The Dismissal fame, Paul Keating, whilst serving as Prime Minister of Australia, was dismissed from office by the Governor-General.

Would he leave meekly, somewhat akin to Gough, or would he declare a republic then fight it out to the bitter end if necessary?

Maybe something else?

He would probably raise a little hell about it, but I don't think he would have declared a republic and fought to the end. He would have made a big speech, made a few cheap shots, and then left.

I can't remember who posted it, but I remember someone once posted "I can't see anyone wanting to die in a ditch for Paul Keating."

Heck, it might have even been you who said that, DMA. ;)

:D

Just let me check on the dates, however, as I might have been a left-wing radical uni student at the time... if so it wouldn't have been me! ;)

Yes, from 1992-94 I was a left-wing radical uni student @ CSU-Mitchell, at the time, which was right in the middle of Keating's government. So it woudn't have been me who said that...
