President Ron Paul

I've seen this post a few times, but I haven't seen anyone attempt to piece together Ron Paul's cabinet. So if Ron Paul became president in either 2008 or 2012, who would be his running mate? Who would be in his cabinet?

This is pretty much totally ASB, but the evil side of me wonders if Lyndon LaRouche wouldn't somehow find his way into the cabinet. I'm not sure if the Oval Office could fit both of their craziness in it at the same time, though.

He'd have to tone down his views. He's far too nutty and out of step with the Republican establishment to ever be a serious candidate. He'd have to get a higher office than Congressman too, since Nobody has been elected president directly from the House for centuries.

Those two things are mutually exclusive :)

Pretty much impossible unless we're talking pre1900 POD. The whole laissez-faire period of US economics pretty well inoculated the US population from being quite that stupid. The vast majority of the population is well aware that they are very small fish, and have no desire to let loose the sharks.

To get Ron in office, we need the US population to be highly distrustful of government, but conversely very trustful of business.

And the population in general must be far less fundamentally religious, as they won't like a lot of his social policy.

Basically ASB.
