This is a concept which is a perennial favorite of mine. Basically, the central idea is this. President Eisenhower's November 1957 stroke is fatal. Only a year after the overwhelming reelection of the Ike/Nixon ticket, Vice President Nixon is elevated to the Presidency. What does President Nixon do between 1957-1961. Is his (First?) term a carbon copy of the second term Eisenhower Presidency we know? What does 1960 look like? Does Senator Kennedy still run against the incumbent President. If so is Nixon's incumbency enough to push him over the top? I don't think Nixon will debate Kennedy in such a course of events for whatever that's worth. If Nixon is reelected what do the remainder of the Nixon years look like here?
