President Pershing possibility?

Catboy,
Why not a peaceful annexationist movement? Mexico gets sent down the shitter economically, politically, socially, and America comes in bailing them out. Mexican annexationist movements become much more popular, leading to a union between the two countries in the late 30's ala Anschluss?
Good idea...Obergon killed in action...Villa takes power, screws up the country...Mexico crumbles!
Thank you!

Does that work? That was the explanation.

I'm still very confused.

Here's the title of the thread: President Pershing possibility?.

Here's your "explanation" in Post #17: In it, Adolph Ochs is born three seconds later than OTL. He then supports Goddard instead of downing him in 1920. The US military then takes notice and begins to work on rockets. Now, my question is, how could the USA annex parts of Mexico and create a puppet state without going back to far for the POD?

Notice the distinct lack of anything Pershing?

Just what are you trying to discuss? The possibilities of Pershing becoming president? The Times supporting Goddard? Mexico disintegrating? The US annexing Mexico? What's it all about?

Bill

It actually was a dnag stupid idea, to say the least.

Catboy637,

No it wasn't. Don't ever say that.

We just don't understand what idea it's supposed to be, that's all.

Is it about rockets? Pershing? Mexico? Something else?

Pick one and we're off to the races.

Bill

Okay, the idea is that Adolph Ochs (Google it) is born three seconds late, leading him to support Robert Goddard in a 1920 article, leading to Pershing taking note of the rockets and employing them in the US military.
That is the idea, so what happens next?

Okay, the idea is that Adolph Ochs (Google it) is born three seconds late...

Catboy637,

What's the significance of Och's birth being three seconds later?

... leading him to support Robert Goddard in a 1920 article...

Why would they 3-second delayed birth cause that? Och didn't write articles or set editorial policy. His employees did that.

... leading to Pershing taking note of the rockets and employing them in the US military.

Employing them in what fashion?

That is the idea, so what happens next?

I think you need to deal with the idea first, then worry about the follow on effects.

Bill

Butterfly effect, just like hoe having Hitler born three seconds later may make him more patient, delaying WWII. That's not the idea, by the way.
If he catches wind of the article and gets angry he could stop it from ebing published, or something.
