President of Israel Albert Einstein

In 1952, I recently read, that when President Chaim Weizmann passed away, the Prime Minister of Israel asked Albert Einstein to become President of Israel, Einstein said he was 'Saddened and Ashamed' to refuse the offer. What if Albert Einstein did in fact take the position?

David Ben-Gurion felt he had to offer him the Presidency, but allegedly said "What the hell are we going to do if he says yes?"

Einstein would have been President for about 3 years at the end of his life, I think the only difference really would be a different face on one of the NIS notes, there would probably be a Einstein Institute for Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem ect but I doubt it would have changed Israeli or International history except on that kind of superficial level. (Sorry)

I vaguely recall one of those "Alternate Heroes/Villains/Kennedys/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" collections had a scenario in which Einstein became president of Israel. IIRC he suffered a head injury and Turned Evil, because, I guess, True Art is Angsty ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TrueArtIsAngsty )

Once again the job has no power. The evil President of Israel, particularly a world famous one, would certainly be an embarrassment.
