President Henry Ford?

Henry Ford ran for Senate as a Democrat in 1918, finishing behind Republican candidate Truman Newberry. Shortly after the election Newberry was tried under the Federal Corrupt Practices Act for election irregularities, and although the conviction was overturned by the United States Supreme Court in Newberry vs. United States and a Senate investigation found him entitled to his seat, Newberry resigned his seat in 1922.

Given how close the election was and Newberry's troubles after winning, what if Henry Ford had won the Senate race? Could he have gone on to have a prominent career in politics, perhaps even running for President?

Henry Ford would be 65 in 1928 and 69 in 1932, so that gives a narrow window for him to start his first term. What wing of the party would he be likely to be in?

Alternatively, maybe Ford could become Secretary of Commerce on the way to or instead of becoming President?

Well, Reagan and Trump weren't any younger.

Ford's presidency might be good for economy, but I guess that for civil rights movement pretty terrible thing. Man was antisemitic and very pro-Hitler.
