President Henry Cabot Lodge (1954-1961)

Inspired by the "Eisenhower gets what Patton Got" timeline:

POD: With Eisenhower dead, Robert Taft narrowly wins the Republican presidential nomination. Knowing that he'd need Moderate, internationalist Republican votes in order to win the election, Taft offers the Vice-Presidential nomination to Senator Henry Cabot Lodge. Lodge is a war hero, who gave up his Senate seat to serve in the army during WW2; returning from the war, he regained his seat, and became known as the prototypical Yankee Republican.

The Taft-Lodge ticket narrowly wins over Adlai Stevenson. Several months later, drained from the stress of the campaign, Taft begins to suffer from terminal cancer. By February of 1954, he is dead, and Henry Cabot Lodge assumes the Presidency.

So. How do you all feel that Lodge would govern?

I think a Lodge Presidency would look very similar to an Eisenhower Presidency in OTL. Interesting, who is Cab making his running mate in 1956?
