Let's assume 1) Rome improved its weaknesses in succession and economics (better tax system etc.). 2) Partly because of that expanded, and to the Elbe as planned in addition to the Zagros. 3) Built on sustained success with 1&2 survived to the present day with periods of temporary division like China.
Might we see a calm and productive culture in the Middle East?
Would it result in a stable superpower able to rival the eventual rise of a superpower in North America (probably a spawn of Rome in the same sense the US is of Britain)?
