Present Day with a Surviving Roman Empire

Not so Elfwine, the west of the 5th century was no longer Roman.Where was all these army?Aetius was scrapping the bottom of the barrel to stop the Huns and had to ally with the Visigoths to have some hope of chance...the empire in the west was to all practical purposes Italy.

I'm not sure which is the case here:

1) You didn't read my post, which specifically is about the Western army/armies before the fifth century (and thus before Aetius or Atillia).

2) You're arguing that the army collapsed before the 5th century.

Orcourse I read it and in the great movement of the tribes that they crossed the frozen Rhine, what was the Roman strength there? TOKEN.
And why? because the main enemy for over two centuries had a name:
Sassanids...

Well a POD before 1200 sure, I for some reason jumped to the 1400's for Byzantium in my head for some reason. But I believe that having Byzantium survive would be the best option for a Roman survival?
May be true, but recovery of the west including Rome from the newly converted barbarians would be severely restricred on practical reasons.
