Prediction for aftermath of Goering’s Reich

i highly recommend checking out the great TL by @galveston bay
One interesting and to be honest unfortunate fact is due to the peace treaty at the end, already confirmed most likely route, the ideology will never truly be discredited. In some nations, goering may end up being seen as a modern Bismarck of sorts, in fact. However on the less depressing side polish German relations ittl aren’t bad and there was no lebensraum pursues.
One thing I actually find likely is while many became war weary, I find history will curse certain “appeasers.”
Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark seem likely to be highly unstable post war. They have undergone a severe beat down by Germany and now have severe restrictions placed on their strength. Thus Belgium may collapse all together, Netherlands may get their own irredentists, and Europe in general retains many rivalries.
Yes, I am saying another war could occur. There is no pan europeanism that really prevents that.
Meanwhile the Germans will have quite the rebuilding to do. It’s likely their satellites in the east will in essence look like otl iron curtain nations with a fascist flavor. Nonetheless, consider the holodomer and such, and the fact no lebensraum was pursued. Goering might be seen as preferable to Stalin.
Nonetheless, a USSR style collapse seems inevitable at some point. Also due to the protectionist nature of fascism factional splits will occur. One nasty result is fascism is never really taboo, and given ittl Germany temporarily allied with a rebel Syria and Iraq, anti colonial movements may seee some inspiration in fascism.
The USSR... it’s in a very difficult position. Whatever propaganda twist they try to use, it will likely be seen as a universal capitulation and humiliation. This USSR lost CRIMEA. Therefore it’s very safe to say the USSR may fall into instability and have to reform or get thrown out from within. I even find a pan Slavic irredentist regime plausible. Yes, fascists against fascists. Khrushchev has a very tight rope to walk, and while Germany can probably stir up separatist sentiment in Chechnya or another soviet minorities, he can’t do much to Germany, for no so fond memories of Stalin are probably fresh in Crimea, Ukraine and Belarus nations mind.
To many in America, while they supported the war in the east, it seems likely many will see the western front as not having been their battle. I find disgruntlement likely, thousands of veterans died only to have a peace treaty signed in the end due to war weariness. Therefore that might result in a semi cautious foreign policy.
Given the men goering surrounded himself with, it’s likely after his death a clique of industrialists, hyper conservatives, and nazi hardliners perhaps attempting s comeback will struggle for power, likely resulting in much power going to the industrial junkers.

Thanks for the kind words... it took a lot of work to create a Eurasia vs Eastasia vs Oceania situation

and yeah, the world is a mess postwar, Asia even more so

feel free to speculate
