Power level of a united Christian Church?

If the East-West schism of the 11th century doesn't occur and the bulk of Christianity continues for centuries on as one giant united church hierarchy what are the ramifications?

I'm assuming some sort of reformation may still occur but would it be as successful with a united East and West? Does the pope or equivalent wield even more power as a world leader?

The defacto split come much more earlier, like 400 or earlier,or more formal with 800 with the pope usurping the roman title to give it to a Frank.

Want avoid that? Kill either faction early them

It is hard to imagine that a religion could have a single doctrine over a wide area. Leaving aside that any religion has many points open to interpretation in its doctrine (nature of Crist în christianity-human or god), the teachings of any set of belief will vary acording to a specific set of political needs (for example some states might need to tax the church so they will adapt the doctrine accordingly).

Also christianity was fractured long before 1054 which is a artificial milestone. Syria-Palestine and Egypt were monophysite, Persia was nestorian, Armenians and Etiopians have particular brands of Christianity etc.

Regarding the 1054 schism, it was an artificial milestone because the byzantine emperor and the Pope continued to colaborate politically even despite the schism. More damaging was 1204 conquest of Constantinople which soured irremediably the relations between the two churches.
