Post-WW1 Partition of Turkey

in addition to my Bulgaria thread, another thing that i've been wondering about is this: what if, in addition to being dissolved, the Ottoman Empire's territory was also given to some of the Allied powers, including some of its lands in Anatolia. what would be the most plausible way for this territory to be divided, and to what states? this should include a rump Turkish state

They tried (Treaty of Sèvres), but it turns out that killing Turks defending their homeland is hard work.

The treaty of Sevres was a joke. If the Allied powers had known how the Turks would fight it would never have happened. The Allies had no stomach for a war in Anatolia.

I think a strip of teh Agean coast would be possible - if the Greeks were backed by UK+FR (military presence at least)

Kurdistan is also a possiblity - but only as a (promised) independent state...

They really messed up the Sevres treaty by not following up with a real military presence. Thus they enabled to Turks to reverse some issues...

Poor Geeks...

By convincing the Turks that nothing was to be lost by fighting was the worst mistake made regarding Sevres...and as to whether either France or the UK benefit or suffer from insisting on an independent Kurdistan given their own positions in Iraq and Syria...

Perhaps Ataturk is killed during the War and no other dominant figure rises to fill the role he did, Turkey could then have a Chinese style warlord era but eventually some kind of Turkish state will emerge.

Well the Russians have wanted Constantinople for centuries, not sure if that extends to the Soviets.

If we have the Russians do better in the war, there's a chance they could grab some OTL Turkish territory but IMHO getting them their dream of Constantinople is pretty far-fetched
