In the period of time between Constantine ending the persecution of Christians within the Roman Empire and the Nestorian Schism of 431, if the (Eastern) Roman Empire managed to conquer Christian Assyria and Mesopotamia, and assuming any Persian reconquest fails, could they held it without much trouble, or would they have run into the same troubles as they did IOTL with the Syrians and Egyptians, and with the Church of the East?

Just a little something that came into my head just now. Any thoughts?
