So,the idea is,take the US map as it is,then redraw the state borders.Use your imagination.They dont quite need a specific POD,so just draw whatever makes sense.Do whatever time period you like if you choose to have a specific one.Also,no Confederate States.Sorry people.:eek: Further,US borders can be slightly larger or smaller than the current ones,but try to come up with a reason.Have fun with it.Ill be interested in seeing your work.

The eastern half of Washington, coupled with part of Oregon and the Idaho panhandle, is the State of Lincoln.
California is divided into Jefferson (furthest north), Bayland (one of several city-states), California, and Los Angeles (furthest south).
The part taken out of Texas is the State of Houston.
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan and parts of Wisconsin became the State of Superior. Chicago and Detroit are their own states.
Last but not least, New York City and Long Island have been merged into the State of Manhattan.

From a timeline wherein Washington has a son, who eventually establishes an American monarchy in 1838, a map of the Empire of the United States of America. This map shows the states in c. 1900.

This is from a timeline where America didn't pull out of Vietnam until the 1980's when they won. The result (during the war) was massive divisions between the citizens of America. Hawks and Doves essentially declared war on each other. A faction of the Conservatives, calling themselves Fundamentalists, likewise declared war on the Counterculture (which lasts much longer in this story than in real life) begining with the Woodstock Massacre. Black Nationalists than began fighting with the Ku Klux Klan. The eventual result was the division of America into 10 districts. Counterculture(the west coast), Fundamentalist(Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming), Prison(Nevada), Hispanic American(Arizona and New Mexico), Hawk(Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri), Native American(Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, and the Dakotas), White Supramcist(Mississsippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina) Moderate(Tennesse, North Carolina, the Virginias, Maryland, Deleware, and Ohio), Black Nationalist(Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconson, and Michigan) and Dove(New England, New York, Pennslyvania, and New Jersey) Could someone post a map please? I'm a newb.:eek:
