Post-1862 Confed Vic - True American Marxism

In the later part of the Civil War, the South approached in some regions being on production and socialist levels similar to the early Soviet Union. Could an victorious or guerrilla confederate state find solace in the words of Marx(excluding the issue of slavery, of course)

The Confederacy was based on the idea that inequality should be the basis of society. Marx had some messed-up proposals, but he seems to have held the basic socialist view that equality should be the basis of society, and inequality would create conflict. I don't see the Confederacy becoming socialist, in any sense, short of a revolution against the plantation aristocracy, against the Confederate regime, against slavery, and against conscription.

Slaves and poor confederate whites would certainly find solace in the words of Marx. The state, however...I can't imagine a ruling caste more hostile to Marx than that of the Confederacy

How about a revolution in the south led by a coalition of poor whites and slaves... can't think of a better way to solve race relations in the south :D

(I'm a bit biased towards marx)
