Possibility of a Crusade in 1009?

Shortly after his election in 1009 Pope Sergius IV issued a Papal Bull calling for Islam to be driven from the Holy Land after the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was destroyed by the Fatimid Caliph Al Hakim bin Amr Allah (also known as "the Mad"). Some historians have suggested that this bull was actually invented around the time of the First Crusade, in order to help justify that expedition to Jerusalem. However recently, historians have forcefully argued for the document's authenticity.
WI Pope's call was accepted by the European Princes and a Crusade began in 1009? Is this possible? Could Emperor Basil II (with the help of Western "Crusaders") attack and restore Roman rule in Palestine and-perhaps-Egypt?
What do u think?

Basil didn't need the help and - more importantly - didn't want it. Without the Byzantines, the Crusaders can get nowhere. Crusades before Manzikert (or equivalent) are basically impossible.

Basil II extended the eastern borders of the Empire to Palestine but he lacked the strength to invade the Fatimids in Palestine and Egypt... Basil II could play with the Western Princes into help him reclaim Holy Lands and then kick them out or offer them lands in Southern Italy in exchange for restoring Roman authority in Palestine and possibly Egypt...
Its a possibility... Papacy wouldnt mind who holds Jerusalem since Eastern and Western Churches were still in full communion but i guess that Pope would have backed the exchange of Palestine and Egypt with Southern Italy since it would have strengthened the Papacy while at the same time it would have made it difficult for the Normans to conquer it...
