Possiable PoDs for Nobility to be extinguished in West

I'm trying to brainstorm up some ideas on how to get rid of the concept of nobility utterly in the Western world. What some PoDs for this to happen?

No US declaration of war against the central powers leading to a peace of exhaustion.

Socialist revolts in all european countries causing the concept of nobility to be whiped out.

That could work. Also just to be clear I put in pre 1900s because I didn't want to exclud any PoDs ones fro after that are fine too.

Oh i didnt notice,well in that care.

The plague grows even worse and starts killing off more of the nobility,the few people left dont feel any need for the nobles and a sort of democracy arises since the nobility doesnt have anyone left who will serve them.

For the sake of keeping it european lets assume the plague also wreacks the asiatic and african powers enough so nobody can push into the depopulated europe.
