So what if the Aztecs who had a considerably larger force of worriors then the Spanish destroyed the bridge to tenochtitlan and engaged the Spanish in a gurilla war long enough for the Portugese to see them as a possilbe ally against the Spanish. the Spanish start sending more more troops to fight in a war that is rapidly taking up time, resources, and lives. Unable to take the Capital of the Aztec Empire the Spanish are locked in a war that to many in the homeland feel should have been won almost imedialtly. The large amount of Spanish troops begin to take a massive toll on the Aztecs and it seems that there struggle will be end invain. But the Portugese seeing the Aztecs as a way to stick there fingers in the spainshes eyes without getting offically involved begin smuglling Guns, and other weapons to the Aztecs. When the Spanish biuld several ships designed to be taken apart and used to take Tenochtitlan they are greatly suprised when the Aztecs begin opening up on them with cannons. the destruction of the Spanish ships gives Portugal the oppertunity to make a formal alliance with the "powerful" emerging power that is the Aztec empire. After ten years of war the Spanish leave the Aztec empire so as not to engage in a war that would speard its already thin forces even thinner.
Is it to improbable to have occured? if not what happens next? What will happen to America when It starts speading westward? Would the Aztec empire be able to survive the nepoleaonic wars? Would a strong southern nighboor have been to powerful for the Americans to accomplish manafest desteny?

Please don't be to condesending when insaulting me for posting this.
