Portugal and Boxer War- a question

Why didn't the Portugal take part in Western intervention against the Boxers? Was Portuguese Legation not under attack or?
 
Nobody had leased territory in Beijing, they only had embassies there...

The embassies in Beijing were legation territories, meaning they were given control over the embassy and influence in the surrounding areas.
 
You might be interested in this snippet from Reuters on June 25th 1900.

"The American battleship Oregon left for Taku yesterday. The Hailoong, with stores, sailed this morning, having been delayed in order to take 1,000,000 rounds of ammunition. Dr. Sutton R. H., will accompany her for the base hospital at Wei-hai-Wei. The troops at Macao are under arms. The Governor of Macao has sent arms for the Portuguese at Canton. Anti-foreign placards have been posed up at Canton."
