One commonly asked question on the site is what if Mexico joined the centrals in ww1. This is of course all because of the mysterious Zimmerman Telegram. I tend to question the existance of the telegram but that's not what I'm wondering about. Mexico was in the midst of revolution/civil war at the time and would never be able to contribute anything to the central powers war effort. However what if Diaz was still in power. Under Diaz, dictator or not, Mexico was thriving. If he didn't announce democratic reforms in 1908 he would probably remained in power until his death, which his life may have been prolonged if the revolution hadn't occured. Would Mexico under Diaz be more willing or able to assist the Central Powers? Would Diaz' regime even want to?
