Pope Odo, 1085-1097

Odo, brother of William the Bastard, Bishop of Bayeux and Earl of Kent, was apprehended by his big brother sometime in 1082.
An accusation raised against him was that he collected an army to march to Italy and make himself Pope.
Suppose that Odo either gives William a slip or is somehow forgiven by William, so his army´s march goes ahead.
OTL, Pope Gregory VII died in May 1085. Victor III was elected in May 1086, died September 1087. Urbanus II was elected February 1088, died July 1099.
Suppose that Odo and his army, rather than attack and overthrow Gregory VII, serve him as military allies for the couple of years till he dies as per OTL in May 1085 and then ensure prompt election of Odo.
Odo then dies the same time as per OTL - January 1097.
Consequences?

OTL, the only English pope was Nicholas Breakspear, but he was a nobody from England.
Hey, Breakspear was a somebody. He established the Archdiocese of Trondheim before he was even Pope, and he was apparently quite the ardent reformer.

Supposedly he was about to excommunicate Barbarossa before he died. That would've been fun.
