Pop-culture of the Kaiserreich

A screenshot from final season of the widely popular HBO alternate history series, Fuherreich: Legacy of the Great War.

Set in a world were Germany lost the First Weltkrieg, the series focus on a Germany where after years of humiliation and economic hardship, is eventually usurped by a cruel and power-mad dictator, who's actions lead to a global conflict that kills millions of innocent people before he commits suicide to avoid being captured by his victorious enemies. While the series has been praised for the depiction of a realistic National Populist Germany, critics are divided about how other events in the show's timeline have been portrayed, such as France and Britian never falling to Syndicalist revolution, the Bolshevik's wining the Russian Civil War, or that America never a Second Civil War and becomes a major world power.
Can you imagine the memes of the Kaisreich universes from all the Hitler (Or whoever is in charge) scenes.

Sound like good ideas.

While we're on the subject, how would the UoB view the myth of King Arthur in general?
Hard to say.

Not great cause Monarch but he is a big part of the national Psyche, maybe as a heroic defender against invaders and an "enlightened king."

I dont think Monty Python would just make propaganda, so Depicting a national hero as a helpless idiot would be a transgression but less so than it would be in OTL.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaking of national psyche, I reckon Robin Hood movies would be popular in Britain, although they might cut out King Richard.

Alexa Davalos as Juliana Crain and Luke Kleintank as Joe Blake in the Torchbearer Streaming Union show City on a Hill, based on the novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick. Set in an alternate history where the American Union State won the Second Civil War, it tells the bleak story of an America divided between William Dudley Pelley’s AUS - an ally of Voynist Russia - in the East, a hypercapitalist, Japanese-allied Pacific States of America in the West, and a revanchist, resurgent Exile-dominated Anglo-Canadian Empire in the North. While the show has been criticised for the unlikeliness of its global scenario, it is considered to depict very well the sheer horror of a hypothetical victorious AUS where Pelley managed to usurp power from Long.

SuperCom Interactive Video (InterVid) System, made by the Lotus Home Electronics Union of Britain. The union in question was one of the early pioneers of InterVid technology, and their iconic run of consoles - the FamiCom, the SuperCom, the UltraCom, the Dolphin, the Revolution and most recently the Dragon - has proved popular with gamers across the Internationale.

Cover art from the second game in the three-game The Good Shepard series by the Canadian-based Plasma Storm InterVid Union. Set in the year 2154, it tells the story of the human soldier Commander Lily Shepard* and her battles to save the Union of Earth and others from the depredations of the imperialistic Citadel Concordat. The game series gained great praise for its complex and well-created main character; interesting factions (fans were particularly keen to praise the Turian Alliance, humanity’s main ally against the Citadel, and the Geth, intelligent machines under threat of genocide from the Citadel, who fight to save themselves and save the last of their Quarian creators from Citadel enslavement); well-designed game engine and play; and its wide cast (fan-favourites are the Turian law-enforcer Garrus Vakarian and the Asari former aristocrat-turned-slave Liara T’Soni, whose mother was killed for trying to reform the Citadel from within - these are also the two favoured romance choices by players). The main series ended in 2012 with the third game - much praised for its tying the threads of the previous games together, and its unabashedly happy, optimistic ending - but a spin-off series set in an unexplored region of the Galaxy is under way.
A/N: * More like The Witcher than OTL ME - Lily is the main character as Geralt is in that, she can be customised and levelled up in different ways etc., but she’s always the lead.

Who are some of the other characters in City on a Hill?

Would Metropolis still exist in KR, or would Germany ban it for being Syndicalist propaganda?
Finally! I kept on forgetting to reply to your post everytime I get back home to my computer, until I at long last remembered to do so just now.

Here is the event text from the Darkest Hour version of the mod, for the KR world's verison of the film "Metropolis":

========================================
Date: 13/July/1937

Marlene Dietrich's newest Movie

This evening all of Germany flocks to the movie theatres. Even the hardships of the economic crisis can't stop true fans to see the darling of all Germany, Marlene Dietrich, in her newest movie! 'Metropolis' directed by movie Wunderkind Leni Riefenstahl, tells the story of a futuristic city besieged by savages and the struggles of Metropolis' citizens. Also starring Hans Albers, Rudof Klein- Rogge, and Gustav Frohlich.

Herr meets Hare directed by Friz Freleng, was made in 1945 wherein Bugs Bunny, having made the wrong turn at Albuquerque, ends up in Germany and is pitted against Hermann Goering. The cartoon was inspired by Goering’s war time visit to Germany in the autumn of 1944. The events of the visit were overshadowed when it was leaked that Goering along with several prominent government officials and aristocrats went on a lavish hunting trip in the Black Forest; complete with foie gras, caviar, champagne, and lobster thermidor. Mosley’s Ministry of Truth had a field day. While having no personal sympathies toward syndicalism, Firz Freleng made the cartoon to satirize the blatant hypocrisy of German government, who’s official stance of “austerity for all” was made hollow by the Junker elites enjoying their lavish lifestyles unimpeded. The cartoon was banned in Germany and in Mittleafrika labeled as syndicalist propaganda. As a result, many of Germany’s anti-colonial groups would use Bugs Bunny as their unofficial mascot. The cartoon’s ban in Germany would not be lifted until 1995.

I take it the CSA won the Civil War and assimilated Hollywood

I wonder how a Command and Conquer: Red Alert style game would work.

Like, obviously there would probably be three factions from the start, rather than just two, namely the German Empire, Syndicalists, and the Entente, but how that would look in detail is a bit murkier.

German Empire, though it would probably have a different name (it would likely include Austria, Tzarist Russia, and maybe the Ottomans as well), I could imagine to be a weird hybrid of Iron Harvest's Saxony and WW2 Germany Military Stereotypes (Expensive, but effective units, with plenty of impractical, or highly situational super prototypes), all with a bit of a "Knightly", or at the least "Noble" theme. Their Early Tier Units, like Infantry Squads (Maybe called Stormtroopers?), would remain competitive well into the late game with the right Research, and their late tier would mostly be Units with new functions, rather than replacements.
In the Campaign, most of their named Generals probably have some gratuitous noble title, like "Kaiser Friedrich von Hessen", "Prinzessin Emma von Hohenstottern", or "Baron Katarina von Hausenbach", and so on, with the slight implication that most of them got their position due to their status, not their skill, and place an emphasis on "These poor people have been deprived of proper, noble leadership. Let's restore the natural order of things!".
Facion Symbol would likely be the Iron Cross, or a streamlined version of the Imperial Eagle.

Syndicalists are interesting. They'd be notable in that they "Level up", in that their higher tier units are pretty much just straight upgrades to their lower tier ones. Lower end units are dirt-cheap and spammable, little more than gun-armed Mobs (AK-47 for everyone!), IEDs, and improvised armored vehicles, representing their "Revolution" stage resembling the GLA, while Mid-Tier they take a more professionally-made look, with Mobs making room for (still rather large) trained Conscript Squads and Armored Cars, because they got established, while their High-Tier units are pretty much the equal of any comparable unit of the other two, where they are a proper fighting force, like the Syndicalist French Army. Think Early Tier: GLA, Late Tier: Soviets, and you get the idea, more or less.
In the Campaign, they would be all about "Let's redistribute all these riches to those that deserve it! For the Revolution!", with participation not being optional and often being forced at gunpoint. Their named Officers probably all have in common that they are mostly Lower Class, and probably that they are a bit out of depth. They are motivated, true, but really don't have the skills that would be necessary for their position, all while all having French or British Accents, with the odd American here and there, instead of being Russians.

I'm drawing a blank on the Entente though. Maybe their roster is middle of the road? Neither exceptional, nor crappy? I wonder what their gimmick would be. Maybe all their units are old, but powerful, but that would overlap a bit too much with the German Empire.

If a fourth Faction came along, it would have, no doubt, some sort of East-Asian, though primarily Chinese flavor, and for that looking at the Celestial Empire from the Red Alert 3 Corona Mod should do the trick. Rising Star, ready for a fight, with the odd Anime-esque unit (since China is apparently like Japan ITTL in that regard), with lots of weird high-tech units.

Just out of curiosity, has it been confirmed that the 1933 version of King Kong was created in the KR universe?

Not quite. The German government labels anything that is critical about Germany and the empire as syndicalist subversion. Germany and the Entente are on the cusp of winning the Weltkrieg. Mosley will hold out 'till 1947. I'm still working out how the 2ACW plays out (if it happens at all).

Would British broadcasting be as tightly controlled in the UoB like OTL Britain was with the BBC?

Okay, continuing on the "Kaiserreich Red Alert" idea:

Iron Empire (Reichspakt, aka: Imperial Gemany and Subject States)
The Iron Empire is the "Elite" faction. Most, if not all of their units are more expensive than their Syndicalist or Entente Counterparts, but in exchange much, much more effective. Controlling most of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as large swathes of Africa, they are a force to be reckoned with, and turn their vast industrial might against any foe that dares threaten the Kaiser.

Units

Imperial Pioneer
"It will be strong and sturdy, like a good German Oak!"
Role: Construction/Repair

Pioneers are the blood that flows through the veins of any war effort, that is the true for the Empire as it is for anyone else. Although the Imperial Pioneers are the fastest when it comes to the construction of buildings and fortifications, they are the slowest when it comes to repairing them, as they have to replace many finnicky, often non-standard parts used by the Imperial Army. They are armed with the same SMGs as the Stormtroopers, and can defend themselves quite competently in a fight.

Stormtroopers
"Their trenches will be rivers of blood once we're done!"
Role: Standard Infantry

The Imperial Stormtroopers are the backbone of the Imperial Army, and make up the majority of its fighting force. Clad in exquisite body armor and armed with rapid-fire Submachine Guns, they make quick work of any unprotected footsoldier. In addition, they carry potato masher grenades against entrenched and armored targets.
Furthermore, their weapons can be upgraded with Research, replacing their SMGs with heavy automatic rifles, and their grenades with handheld cluster bombs, a single of which can wipe out an entire Infantry Squad.

Panzerjäger
"One shot, one down!"
Role: Anti-Armor/Anti-Structure Sniper

Armed with long-range Anti-Tank Rifles longer than they are tall, the Panzerjägers are the primary anti-vehicle unit of the Empire. Their rate of fire is slow, and they need to get prone before firing, rendring them unable to shoot while moving, but their weapons pack a massive punch. Their Rifles, while effective, are designed to be used against singular entities, meaning that they are very easily overwhelmed by masses of Infantry if left alone.
Their Ability "K-Bullets" gives them a penetrating shot that, once it hits an enemy Unit, passes though for a distance and cause damage to any other Unit behind it, but renders them unable to fire until the cooldown has passed. The Research "AP Munitions" gives the standard shots of the Panzerjäger similar, if weaker properties as "K-Bullets", making every shot a penetrating one, giving them more chances at taking down infantry.

Winged Hussars
"We ride to victory!"
Role: Exploitation/Fast Recon Cavalry

The Winged Hussars are an oddity in the Imperial Army, as they were originally of Polish, not German origin. Replacing their steeds of flesh and blood with robotic Warhorses, and their wooden spears and steel swords with lances and sabers whose blades glow with heat that can cut through armor plating with ease, they remain a fearsome foe even on the modern battlefield, fearlessly charging enemy gunlines, and cutting down or trampling underfoot any enemy soldier that is foolish enough to stand in their path. Their ability "Cavalry Charge" only emphasizes that, knocking aside, or outright killing, any enemy Unit unfortunate enough to find itself between the Hussars and their destination.

Grenadiers
"They'll need more than that to kill me!!"
Role: Heavy Infantry/Shocktrooper

The pinnacle of Imperial infantry, the Grenadiers are encased in a heavy suit of Power Armor, and wield Heavy Machine Guns and Trench Hammers with devastating effect. All but impervious to small arms, most Standard Infantry weapons barely scratch them, and they are only threatened by heavier ordnance.
When armed with their signature Machine Guns, they can lay down a withering hail of fire, wiping out Infantry Squads within seconds, and seriously damaging Light vehicles that are within their line of fire. When they switch to their Trench Hammers, they can move faster and posess a devastating anti-armor melee attack, that most unprotected units cannot withstand for any length of time.
All this power comes at a cost, however, despite their Power Armor negating the weight of their equipment, Grenadiers are rather slow, being outrun by most Infantry. Even their speed with equipped Trench Hammers makes them barely as fast as Standard Infantry.
Their Ability "Hunker Down" makes the Grenadier kneel and brace their Machine Gun, greatly increasing rate of fire and precision, while also rendering them immune to stunning or knocking effects.

Anya Sobieski von Krakau
"Upon my wings! For the Kaiser!"
Role: Hero Unit/Cavalry

Anya Sobieski von Krakau (Krakow) comes from a long line of German nobility, and is the current Commander of the Empire's Cavalry Corps. When her family was granted lands in Poland by the Kaiser, her Grandfather wanted to connect their House to their new sobjects, and claimed the name of Sobieski, after a long-extinct Polish Royal Line. While initially their Polish subjects were less than pleased, the deeds of Anya's Father, who granted the Poles equal rights, and her own illustrious career in the Imperial Army firmly put their concerns to rest, and they were accepted and celebrated in Poland. In fact, the Winged Hussars, now an inseperable image of Imperial Might, were founded by Anya's father.
Now she seeks to follow in his footsteps, and prove herself, equally in the eyes of the Kaiser, as well as the people that she rules.

Anya is a fearsome melee combatant, upon her robotic horse "Janek", cutting through Infantry and Light Vehicles like a hot knife through snow with her heat-bladed Saber. Her ability "Rally to me!" increases the damage output and resistance of all friendly units within a sizable radius, which is doubled if she is in conbat while it is activated, while her Ability "Black Wings" summons a cadre of black-winged Hussars to her side.
Anya, in case you can't tell, is basically a Tanya or Yuriko Omega-esque type of deal. Though I imagine there'd be more than one Hero per faction, like, maybe three or four, one for each branch (Land/Sea/Air) or troop type (Infantry/Vehicles/Aircraft/Ships).

I'll add other Units later, and probably tackle the other factions as well. Got any ideas for the Syndicalists and Entente? Let me know.

Well, for the Entente, you could give the Canadians giant bear mounts and the French Republic desert troops.

Since Hedy Lamarr never left Europe to go to Hollywood, who are major actresses in 1937?
