The Ghost Train - a 1941 thriller/comedy film from the Union of Britian. Set during the Second Weltkrieg era, the film follows an eclectic group of British citizens which includes a stand-up comedian, a civil engineer, a People's Policewoman, a factory foreman and an elderly officer of the Home Guard. When they are forced to change trains at a lonely station in Cornwall, the stationmaster tells them a local legend of train that crashed into the river decades earlier, and that a phantom train appears on foggy nights, continuing its run. The story concludes with the warning that those who look upon it are driven mad or frightened to death.
After a few hijinks and scares, the protagonists discover that 'ghost train' is hoax used by a group of Royalists to smuggle weapons to Canada. By the end of the film, the plot is exposed, and the members of the fifth column are captured by members of the Home Guard and the Republican Army.

Any ideas for the Guardians of the Galaxy?The Spider-Punk side characters that appear in the movie are as follows:
Harry Osborn:
Played by Will Poulter, Harry's family is originally from a British/Canadian background with his (great ?) Grandfather having left the UoB all the way back when the revolution began. His father Norman would end up starting a small tech company in Canada.
After the orginal Chitauri attempted invasion of Earth, Norman would move Harry and his family back to the UoB where his company Oscorp won a major contract with the UoB government to help set up new labs to study the alien debris, and so Norman would become one of the very few and chosen millionaires allowed to exist within the UoB, with Oscorp, being based in the US acting as an independent company but in fact being nothing more that a UoB front.
Anyways, Harry would end up going to the same school as Billy (Spider Punk) and the two would become immediate friends, with Billy's parents even becoming something of surrogate parents to Harry after the death of his own mother and with Norman usually being too busy working to spend time with him.
The story of Norman and Harry would be a mash-up between the original Toby Mcguire Spider man and Spider-Man homecoming, with Norman, driven by the threat of the Oscorp Workers Union taking control of the company away from him, he ends up using his alien tech to turn himself into the Green Goblin, he then takes the role the vulture took in Home-Coming, and ends up getting arrested by the end of the movie.
There are hints here and there that Harry will end up taking the mantle of his father's Green Goblin, with the Goblin Serum presenting the only cure to an unexplained, rare wasting disease that he has, however we're yet to see it in the movies.
Leaked photos of a very buff Will Poulter and some leaked images of him in bloodied make up from the set of the following Spider-Punk movie however suggests that the Green Goblin might be making a comeback sooner than we think.

Gwen Stacy:
Played by Anya Taylor-Joy, she is Harry and Billie’s best friend and later goes on to become Billie’s girlfriend, her father is the head of the Liverpool Police Force, he dies in the rescue efforts after Spider-Punk's final confrontation with Norman Osborn which gave Billie quiet the survivor's conflict. She gets a cameo role in Multiverse of Madness as the Amazing Spider-Girl where she gets quickly and horribly killed by the scarlet witch after a couple minutes of screen time, it is unknown if she'll reprise the role of Spider-Girl again especially with Marvel venturing more and more into the Multiverse aspects of the Marvel lore.
It's also possible that since Hitler died early in Kaiserreich, Palpatine has no inspirations from there and draws more inspiration from as you said, Macarthur, but I'd also think Savinkov elements could get there too.
I like to think that if it was a world where the CSA won or at least syndicalism succeeded in Europe or something like that, we could see the core like equilibrium of Starwars kinda flipped. Instead of the good Jedi fighting the evil Sith with the galaxy caught in the middle, you’ll have the good, “left” leaning but totally aloof and disconnected from the average man Jedi fighting against the authoritarian Sith, but instead of the galaxy just watching the fight, you get the everyday man, represented by maybe the clone soldiers and/or the resistance fighting against both the Sith and Jedi, fighting against the “force” itself and viewing the force as just a mean for two elitist, colonialist factions to control the Everyman.
So basically you have the well meaning but still dictatorial “Paternal autocrat” Jedi, fighting the outright evil “NatPop” Sith with a separate completely “normal” non force sensitive faction representing the RadSocs.
Perhaps the characters of Palpatine and Tarkin would be combined, with elements of Savinkov thrown in. And we'd get a non-force using faction of crypto Syndies.
