Pop-culture in WWIII?

I have always been asking myself how popular culture would have looked like if a conventional war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact broke out. Let's say for example that World War III breaks out in 1989 with the Warsaw Pact launching a massive invasion and ends somewhere in the late 90s with a pyrrhic victory of the Western World and with no nuclear holocaust.
It may be ASBish but I am not asking the plausibility of such premise but how pop culture would have developed from 1989 to 2010 in this ATL.

For example: Do you think that cyberpunk and post-apocalyptic movies would be considered as more than B-Movies during the war and in the post-war years? Might Europe being in ruins avert or just postpone the emergence of Eurodance? Would we still have a war between Sega and Nintendo? How would the war have affected the development of music and cinema? How about technological progress?
And so on. You don't have to concentrate just on the US, I am more than curious to know how things might have been in Western Europe, the Eastern Block and Eastern Asia for example.
