Pop-culture in TL-191

Just how swinging would the swinging 1960s of the 191 universe be? Well, I think that the below music video might be a good indication of what commercial pop music might be like. Remember, I'm describing things as they might be within my own continuation story in which the US successfully reabsorbs the Confederacy. Also, notice how the below musical piece has top not musicianship in it, but it is completely devoid of any radicalism or overt sexual messaging as in our timeline.

Maybe you'll be more explicit of swinging because of a decline of religion because of the Great Wars

Well, I think that the music would be moderately conservative, but that the people themselves would be somewhat self-contained in their actions.

It may be a case that TL191 US would be a bizarre mix between more conservative but have a less religious value compared to IOTL America

More militarized and conservative culture but also more Socialist, Nihilistic and Pessimistic view in America @Cire

Since this is the first day of Kwanzaa, I going to asked you guys a question and speculate with me. Do you think Kwanzaa and Juneteenth will ever exists in the World of Southern victory?

Remember that the CSA even without the Black Reduction, oppressed and treated shit to the Afro-Confederate community for 83 years before they were liberated by the US and CSA even abolished slavery but replace it with basically apartheid

I could see a Massive Renaissance of Black culture in the decades after the Population reduction and Liberia as well as African community will be even prouder of the heritage than ever

Just a guess, but most likely there would be some sort of a holiday to commemorate the liberation of camps Humble and Determination. Would there be something like Kwanzaa? Maybe, but there doesn't really seem to be enough information to say for certain. I imagine that the US government would make exhaustive efforts to ensure that discrimination against surviving would be severely stamped out, and that post war black culture would probably be less harsh than it is in our timeline.

I'm almost positive I posted this idea here or in the Photos thread, but I cannot find it for the life of me, so I'mma post about it again.

An idea I had for the TL 191 equivalent of "An American Tail," but set in the 1900s before the First Great War, about a family of Raccoons (based on the one interpretation of Maus) who leave the South after their home is destroyed by Southern Dogs and head north to Chicago.

Sounds good

I just watched Casablanca last night. Any ideas for a similar movie but in a different location?

What’s the plot?
a find-and-replace of Casablanca but set roughly in Venezuela instead :p in the context of the TL i "wrote" it for, World War II is replaced by a Third Spanish-American War. the only thing that would be especially relevant for TL-191 would be its setting. though, thinking about it a bit more, it might make more sense for the alternate Casablanca to be set in Mexico instead, to complement the Confederacy replacing Nazi Germany

I am a bit curious to listen to ITTL's version of this song, which would be called There'll Be A Hot Time In The Town of Richmond, and both Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters would be Yankees here.

I don't know. But once the war is over, would US authorities really want to rub salt into the wounds of the defeated CS populace? Maybe, maybe not.

Imagine a TL-191 version of this:

This version could be for either the French King, the Tsar, the British King, or even the Emperor/Empress of Mexico.

Oh, and apparently, there's a somewhat similar idea with Francisco Franco...from 1978!

That top movie is great. The Second one I'm still trying to find. I think for a British version, Mosley or Churchill would be more fitting.

I absolutely love your content and I'm absolutely glad that you come back but to answer your question...

Mosley and Churchill are the likely ones to be more fitting to replace Mussolini movie but the first one that I say the Featherston movie it might be more controversial because how there is no CSA country producing it.

Huh maybe Mexican emperor in exiled returning to Mexico to visit

Well, that is unless you go with the headcanons of the CS becoming independent afterwards, like with Yankee Spring , Third Southron War, or my own. Even then, I can still see it being produced as a commentary on the Modern South (in TL 191 that is).
