A Dr Strangeglove type movie would be very interesting In this universe, seeingvas the world at the end of the SGW seemed to be somewhat Tri-polar between the US, Germany, and Japan.

I've never seen the movie, but I've heard about it.

Perhaps a TL-191 version of it may contain the alternate ending of American, German, and Japanese diplomats throwing apple pies, strudel, and daifukumochi at each other, respectfully.

the Strangeglove analog would keep on calling the president "Jake Featherston" as an analog to how OTL strangeglove calls the President "Mein Fuhrer."

In 1992, the Austro-German company IG software would release a game called Snake's Lair (the original title translated from German) to the market. The game would be known under different names in other countries, most notably the English title was Fortress Featherston. The game was one of the first First Person Shooters to ever be released to the market to have critical success. The plot followed a Union soldier named B.J. Blazkowicz around as he battled Confederate soldiers and Freedom Party Guards in various locations of the Confederacy. He would battle different bosses at the end of each chapter of the battle, a notable one was President Jake Featherston in the last level of the game, which the famous quote upon death was "O' Confederacy, remember me!" The expansion pack, known as Spear of Destiny, has a German commando named Karl Pfieffner to recover the Spear of Destiny from French Actionists in Southern France. In 1992 alone, the game would sell a total of 50 million copies worldwide. In the United States, the game would banned due the usage of Freedomite symbolism.

In 2001, IG Software would release the sequel called Snake's Lair 2: Lords of War. The game was built upon the same engine that was used on an earlier game developed by the company. The plot followed B.J. Blazkowicz as he fought the Confederacy and their attempt to resurrect an Aztec Warlord in Mexico. The game starts off in Mexico following Blazkowicz's capture by the Mexican Army in early 1943 alongside with his counter-part named Agent One. Blazkowicz would escape from the Mexican Army barracks and infiltrate the town called Tlaxco where the Confederacy was doing archaeological diggings nearby. With the help of a Mexican Resistance named Rico and another unnamed fighter, Blazkowicz would eliminate the Mexican soldiers guarding the site and enter the catacombs. While there, he would fight through the catacombs battling both Mexican Army soldiers and undead Aztec warriors, ultimately reaching an area where a Freedom Party Guards officer named Hannah Baker and her assistant Smith were investigating one of the Undead that they had killed. Following a fierce firefight with both Mexican soldiers and Freedom Party Elite Guards, Blazkowicz would battle a monster that Baker would summon while getting an old Aztec artifact. The second mission of the game would have Lieutenant Blazkowicz be sent to destroy a secret Confederate Missile Base in Northern Georgia and to acquire an experimental jet fighter plane called the Cobra. The player would infiltrate the base, blow up a rocket which was aimed at New York City armed with a Chemical Warhead, reach the base's airfield in which he encountered Freedom Party Guardsmen reinforcements, and leave with the Cobra. The third mission would have Blazkowicz infiltrate a secret laboratory in Southern Mississippi, which was controlled by a certain Colonel William Stuart. The player would reach and infiltrate the laboratory after battling through the town of Glaston with the help of some local Black Resistance fighters. While in the lab, Blazkowicz would discover a man-made monster called the Hopper and a new weapon called the M43 Super-Ripper. Blazkowicz would also discover a Confederate officer, and would learn from him about the exact location of Colonel Stuart's Laboratory in Cuba. The fourth mission would have Blazkowicz sent off to the some island off the coast of Cuba, where the outside of the X-Labs was guarded by both Freedom Party Guardsmen and by Confederate Marines. After getting defeating the base guards and penetrating into the X-Labs, Blazkowicz would battle both the lab guards and the various abominations created by Colonel Stuart and his team. The final level of Mission 5 would have Colonel Stuart meeting with Blazkowicz, and deploying his new creation, the Super Soldier, to kill the Union commando. Unfortunately, the commando would destroy the Super Soldier and pursue Colonel Stuart, but the Colonel would escape on a Cobra rocket fighter. The game's final mission would have Blazkowicz sent into Chihuahua to stop the Confederacy from resurrecting an Aztec Warlord named Tiuchixoco. After getting past the outer defensive parameter, the commando would infiltrate into a town called Naica to eliminate several Freedom Party Guards officers who had been sent to attend the ceremony. After killing them all and battling the Freedom Party Guardsmen and Elite Guards, the player would head off to the ceremonial grounds where a sorceress named Helen Browne would successfully resurrect the Warlord, and as a result, the Warlord would turn Browne into his slave. Following an intense battle, Blazkowicz would defeat the Warlord and his minions. The game would be universally praised as a successful sequel to it's predecessor from 9 years previous, critics would put the game in high regard for it's campaign and for it's multiplayer mode. The game would also have a GameStation exclusive expansion pack known as Tides of War. The pack would also have a second campaign that would follow the German commando named Karl Pfieffner, as he was sent to Britain to recover the Excalibur from the hands of the British Silver Shirts. Unlike the previous installment, for sales in the United States, the game would have it's Freedomite symbolism and imagery censored to prevent a potential ban.

A screenshot of Snake's Lair 3 of B.J. Blazkowicz.

Following the success of Lords of War and Tides of War, IG software would start work on Snake's Lair 3 in late 2003 and planned for release in 2006. However due to new developments and problems with the game's development, the game would be released in 2009. The third installment would be known internationally as Atlantis and set in Cuba in late 1943. The plot would follow Blazkowicz and his mission to disrupt the Confederacy's archaeological operations to recover the lost technologies of Atlantis and the mining operation for a crystal called Nightstone. The agent would be sent to the Cuban town of El Gurano where all of the Confederate Operations were taking place at. While at the town, Blazkowicz would link up with the Cuban Resistance, and would do various operations in the town. The town would have several sections including the Resistance Hideout, Train Station, cannery, hospital, Freedom Party Headquarters, harbor, a palace, an airfield, and finally an airship. While at the hideout, the player could purchase weapons and upgrades at the Blackmarket run by two brothers named Anton and Rafael Zuniega. Blazkowicz would eventually find a young Texan named Fred Campbell, who was a part of an organization called the Golden Circle, and organization that was dedicated to the study of the Occult. It's leader, Dr. Leo Alexander, would give Blazkowicz an old Atlantean Medallion, in which Campbell would teach Blazkowicz how the medallion worked. With the provision of a Nightstone, the player has the ability to shift into the Veil, a barrier between the Real World and Atlantis. While in the Veil, the player has the ability to run faster, jump higher, and go trough doors that has the Altantean Seal on it. Over the course of the game, the protagonist would acquire new upgrades to his weapons and to his medallion. The agent would then fight against General Victor Sorlington, who would turn out to be a monster when viewed through the Veil. Following Sorlington's death, the Resistance and the Golden Circle would move to another location in the fear of retaliation. After this, Corona Perez would be captured and Blazkowicz would go to the airfield in an attempt to rescue her. There he confronts Sorlington's replacement, Colonel Stuart, who was eager to get revenge on Blazkowicz for the events that happened in Lords of War. During a struggle, Herbert Griggs (who was one of the bosses in the first Snake's Lair and a henchman of Stuart) shoots Corona. Upon returning to El Gurano, Rafael Zuniega informs the agent that he has executed his brother, Anton, in the belief that he was the mole who betrayed both Corona and Blazkowicz. B.J. also learns that the Confederates on their airship were going to fire a super-cannon (which was powered by Atlantis' energy) at the town. He would board the airship and learn that the Dr. Alexander was the real traitor all along. As a "reward", the Doctor was shot by Griggs. Blazkowicz would follow Stuart through the portal (which the Confederates would find and reconstruct.) After fighting the Freedom Party Guards through the city of Atlantis, he would catch up with both Colonel Stuart and Griggs at the City's "Heart" (which was just a star.) Through failing to kill Stuart, B.J. would fight with Griggs, which would result in Atlantis' Destruction. B.J. would escape the burning airship by taking the only parachute and gliding back down to earth. The game would not be as successful as the previous installments, in fact, the game would get a lot of negative criticism. The planned expansion pack for the game, Dark Winter, would be cancelled as a result of the game's failing while it was about 90% finished. The expansion in question, was to follow Pfieffner while he was fighting on the Eastern Front against the Russians, who were attempting to resurrect Koschei the Deathless in an effort to try and turn the war back into their favor. In the limited edition Gold Anniversary Collection that was released in 2017, the cancelled expansion pack would be released in it's incomplete state along with the other games in the franchise. Despite it's incomplete status, Dark Winter would be praised, in which one reviewer said "This is what Snake's Lair 3 should've been."

Speaking of Man in the High Castle/Dr Lexington TV series, here is an idea: Maybe the CS annexes parts of the North, but leaves the rest as a puppet state, but the British and Canada claim another portion for the British Empire. Maybe the Kido analog could be an MI5 agent. A major plot point being that the British are trying to convince the Freedomites to side with them in a cold war against the French and Russian Bloc.

The analog to the Japanese war in China could be the British being bogged down in the Raj or Ireland. "If you fail me, I'll have you re-assigned to the colonies, most likely a colonial backwater as well. If you think the Midwest is bad this time of the year, imagine Ireland.

Of course, Season 4 would be infamous for having the British suddenly deciding to pull out of the Midwest due to the Judean Peoples Front (who appear out of nowhere at the beginning of Season 4 with no buildup) causing too much trouble, resulting in them taking over and establishing their capital in Detroit. But then things get crazy when the King of France is killed along with most of the Action Francaise, somehow bringing a sudden end to the French. And then the John Smith Analog takes over as president of the Confederacy, intent on conquering the Midwest, only for all of that to fail due to things involving the Multiverse. Also, Russia just disappears after being the British sign a treaty with them in Season 3.

All in all, the best season would probably be a toss between Season 2 and 3, the former being about a war brewing between France and Britain that is stopped by the Man in the High Castle's tapes, while the third one deals with a trade/resource war between Tsarist Russia and Britain.

In terms of comedy, I can see a movie similar to Monty Python's Life of Brian being made, but set in Utah about Mormons rather than Roman Judea.

I imagine there would be quite a lot of movies and novels dealing with and/or "re-evaluating" the American occupation and annexation of Canada, with many of them being made by angry Canucks.

2_Imperial Peril Game Cover.jpg

Cover of the alternate history game, Imperial Peril, released in 1995

In 1945, Physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer at Trinity Site, New Mexico, invents a time machine and goes back to Autumn 1917 in Richmond. There he meets a young, discharged Confederate man leaving a restaurant. He addresses him by name: "Sergeant Featherston!" and offers to shake his hand after telling him that he sympathizes with how terrible the war was for the Confederacy and how it deserves a better fate. The moment they hold hands, the sergeant disappears in a puff of electrified dust...

Oppenheimer returns to 1945, looks around the room and down at his stopwatch and says "Time will tell... sooner or later... time will tell."

Petroglyph Studios Proudly Presents...

IMPERIAL PERIL

-Without Featherston's Confederacy rising to power, there is a great peace between the USA and the CSA. Neither side wants to go to war again against each other and it seems that it will remain like that for a long time. The European powers of Britain, France, Russia continue their own war against Germany, but it seems that all the fighting will remain on the other side of the Atlantic. What else could North America fear as long as it avoids a European war...?

The Empire of Japan has been expanding and now plans to take advantage of the opportunity to strengthen it's grip in Asia and the Pacific. With its army, navy, and air force weakened due to Socialist policies and dealing with its own domestic troubles handling occupied territory, can the USA be prepared to defend their homeland against the Land of the Rising Sun? Will the Confederacy remain neutral, an ally, or an enemy? Who else will be on your side or against it?

Make decisive commands on the Pacific battlefield in this alternate 1940's as you try to prevent the Japanese from gaining a stronghold in North America!

Determine the future of the Pacific, the American Continent, and the world, NOW!!!

European Animé
part 1.

Despite having a thriving animation and cinematic tradition, the rise of Action Française and the war destroyed or coopted the French young talents. Furthemore, the destruction of Paris by a Sunbomb in 1944 killed countless of artists in addition of the lost of millions of civillians. But a small group of freelancer and ex-political pariahs had survived the war and coalesced around the figure of Jean Image, a hungarian immigrant that was forced to leave Paris due to royalist harrassment because of its lack of ''French blood''. Jean inhabited the small town of Vichy and regulary welcomed and even housed other persecuted leftist or immigrant artists in his small studio. With the nuking of Paris, the defeat and the nothern occupation, France was in a gutter, with martial law imposed on most of the country while German agents hunted down Action Française members and sympathisers.

For most of the population, the Occupation was a dark period many dont like to talk about, but for Jean Image and his friend, it was almost like a liberation. Free from Action Française censorship, they experienced with cinema with small, low-budget, independant film but moving around was difficult and many were suspicious of filming projects due to Action Francaise past propaganda. Jean Image had another idea, making animation. Drawing could be done in a single room and allow a much bigger scope of idea that might be unrealisable via regular camera. He started small short films in musical animation such as Rhapsodie de Saturne, sold in whatever cinemas were still open. But he quickly had a much bigger project, him and his collaborators and artists started to work on their biggest succest to date: ''Les Rois du Foot'' (the kings of foot(ball)). It started, like many projects, in the studio of Jean Image in Vichy. As they were pitching ideas, Jean noticed kids playing footbal in the streets from the window and had the idea of a film telling the rise of a small, underdog football team from a small town rising to win the national football cup. While everybody were motivated, this project was going to be costly and Jean knew he needed external funds.
To attract producers, Jean knew he needed to make sure his film could be released country-wide, not impeaded by the German censorship and their Action Française witch-hunt. In order to get over that hurdle, he had to contact Otto von Stülpnagel, the officer in charge of the Northern occupation and the man in charge of stamping down the Action Française agents in France. Through mail exchange, he was able to convince von Stülpnagel that his film was harmless and would actually help the child and regular frenchmens and womens to cope with the grim life in a occupied country in reconstruction. With a signed document that allowed the movie script to be distributed in the occupied part of France, he was able to collect funds and contracts of distribution. After two years of work, in 1956, Les Rois du Foot were projected in hundreads of small neighbourhood cinemas all across France and immediatly became a nation-wide success.
RB9pbhw.jpg

While today its animation seem cheap with recurent re-used or limited animation, at the time, it was a high octane, high quality animation. Its success was so great that in 1957, the BBC bought the right of diffusion on the British island and translated it. Known throught he anglosphere as ''Oliver and Tom'', les Rois du Foot would be the first diffusion of the French ''Animé'' style(the contraction of Images Animé, Animated Images). The success was as much high in England as in France, with the apolitical, fun and simple scenario that appealed for a large public, both grown and small.

The second film of Jean Image, under the ''Image Animés Productions'' company, was a historical drama: Jeanne D'arc. The end of the German occupation of northern France and the reconstruction of Paris would be the beggining of the ''Reconstruction'' era, a brighter time, where jobs were available and the Fourth Republic could decide the future of the French peoples. The public welcomed the new movie that was projected in 1962, as it showed an exemple of French resilience and pride. While it was clearly less popular in the British isle then Oliver and Tom, it was still projected and even enjoyed a small financial success. Many consider that since the movie didn't included the trial and burning of Jeanne D'arc by the English (officially due to a lack of time), this was done to not anger the English public and make the movie more palatable across the channel.
ja-jpg.508892

Gainning considerable fame, the ''Vichy Clique'', as Jean Image and his asociated were nicknamed, would start to recruit more and more new talent, in addition of continuing of producing both full animated feature film and animated shorts. While Jean Image and Images Animés Productions would continue with the very successful ''Verne Era'', a serie of animated movie based on Jule Verne novels from 1965 to 1971, with the most popular being 20 000 leagues under the sea.
n-c-png.508899

(Nemo and a member of his crew)

In Britain, a circle of animators would start their own Animé style production. Halas Batchelor and a group of friends decided to create their own stories based on the French animation style. These young mens wanted to show a more ''mature'' story then the ''clean'' french scenarios, so they came out with a story about a futuristic England where the new sport is car racing. Futuristic sport cars with sci-fi modifications are created to win races where all tricks are allowed. ''Speed Racer'' would be projected for the first time in 1966 in York, were Batchelor Studios are based and from there, would sweep the country. In a ironic case, Image Animé Production would buy the right to distribute the movie in France under the name of ''Les As du volant''.
iamspeed-jpg.508905

Both the York Circle and the Vichy Clique would form the basis of the Animé style, with the proof that animation could be a financial success and not only restricted to children (like Disney was in the USA), with the arrival of the television, the genre success would only grow in popularity, both in Europe and America, first in Quebec, then the USA itself.

War Thunder (2015) A multiplayer based GW2 Game that features air, land, sea battles in the form of warships, aircraft, and tanks. The current playable nations in War Thunder are Britain, France, Russia, Germany, Japan, Austria-Hungary, United States, and the Confederacy with an upcoming update that will release the Ottoman Tech Tree. Back in the Spring of 2018, War Thunder ran into controversy when it release the CSA tech tree, which the icon for it was originally the Freedom Flag, which the game was threatened with a potential ban in the United States unless the Freedom flag was removed. A patch however was quickly release which not only fixed the usual bugs on launch but also replaced the Freedom flag with the Confederate Battle Flag.
