Pop Culture DBWI: Michael Jackson on the Simpsons?

As we all know, the third season of the Simpsons kicked off with "Stark Raving Dad" where Homer is put into a mental institution with a patient who thinks he's Bruce Springsteen (with Bruce providing his own voice). However, what's lesser known is that they originally wanted Michael Jackson to play the role (the patient would think he's MJ), but due to a variety of factors, they couldnt get him so they got Bruce instead. How would the episode be received if MJ had taken the role, especially after the recent HBO documentary?

(OOC: This is based off of the Simpsons producers pulling Stark Raving Dad from all platforms)

My first thought when I saw this thread was , The Simpsons does a Very Special Episode about the after effects when Bart spend the night with a Rock Star who abuses Bart.

This is part of the reason why people shouldn't get rid of their DVD's because episodes like these might never come back out again.

It was likely for the best, I cant see MJ agreeing to do many self-deprecating jokes. Not to mention, we lose Springsteen's performance of "Lisa, It's your Birthday", can you really see Jackson doing that? (OOC: I know Kip Lennon really sang the song, but the point remains)
