Pompeji/Herculaneum/Stabiae alternate scenarios

What could you come up with ? The volcano was part of the Phelegrian fields supervulcano which is still a threat today. Edit: If the Phelegrian supervulcano had broken out, Rome wouldn´t have survived. What if Plinius the older went back alive to Naples for instance ? What if there are far more written reports on what happened in 79 BC ?

Rome is founded at Pompeii in 753 BC, history proceeds analogously until 79 AD.

When the capital city of a vast empire is instantaneously destroyed in a volcanic eruption, all hell breaks loose.

The Doom began as Vulcan unleashed his wrath upon the eternal city: lighting the earth beneath on fire, blotting out the sun with soot and ash, sending the ground into the heavens. Neptune too joined the festival of destruction, sending the waves and ocean to hide the remains. It was if his brothers declared war onto the chosen city of Jupiter Maximus. The Doom then ended the great empire of Valyria... er Rome.
