Polytheistic Judaism

The tribes which made up the Kingdom of Israel worship El, paying less regard to the Midianite Baal, Yahueh, which becomes the Baal, and patron god, of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi. The worship of El and Yahueh continues in all the tribes of Jacob regardless, and the distinction between the two gods is recognized through the consolidation of the tribes under the rule of Saul, the kingdom's fracture, leaving Israel and Judah separate kingdoms, the Assyrian war which saw Israel destroyed, and the Babylonian captivity.

How would a polytheistic Judæa be perceived by the Persians, Greeks, and Romans? How would history turn?

It would disappear as countless number of pagan societies did over the centuries. Idea of monotheism is the gift Jews gave to the world.

Judaism would be assimiliated into the Roman-dominated Mediterranean spiritual scene.

The main cause of Roman antipathy towards Jews was the latter's seemingly irrational denial of the existance of the Gods of the former, Romans simply couldn't understand montheism and instead interpreted it as cultist arrogance and thus responded to it with hatred.

Europe is going to need another scape-goat.
