In a timeline where the Fourth Crusade fails in 1204, which Emperor would be in power on 1 January 1205?

Personally, I believe it to be Kanabos, as he was backed by the populace of Konstantinopolis, who may have been enough to defeat Alexios V’s aristocratic coup and overthrow Alexios IV and Isaakios II.

Will CalBear ban me for bumping? It’s statistically unlikely, so dear God I hope so.

Edit — @CalBear, if you do take disciplinary action against me for this, I would ask that there be an explanation of whether or not bumping is an offense, as I have seen some bumps get a thread locked but others not, and there are no rules in the Help Forum.

Kanabos was never really in power - as such, a defeat of the crusade via a battlefield be POD would be to unlikely boost his prospects all that much. Having the Crusade leave earlier, or never arrive in the first place, would never see him rise to prominence in the first place.
