Polish Minsk

The Poles during the Polish-Soviet War were offered Minsk, but they rejected the offer out of concerns of digestibility.

What if the Poles had annexed Minsk?

Belarussian national identity was much less firm than other identities like Ukrainian and Lithuanian - could the Poles get the inhabitants of the area to consider themselves Poles?

They were right to reject that idea. Belarusian national identity was only less firm because they considered themselves Russians. Russians, not Poles.

Not sure the Poles would be up for some sort of Federation, tho the anti Communists through the region might see it as desirable. On paper a sort of anti Bolshevik group of the Baltic states, White Russia, Poland, and maybe some sort of rump Ukraine looks desirable. Politically difficult no doubt...
