Polish-Czechoslovak border adjustments in Interwar years?

Throughout the interwar years the various border disputes between the two nations prevented a military alliance that might have offered some protection against the rising menace of Nazi Germany and the USSR. Were there any mediation efforts that ever had even a reasonable chance at success, or was this conflict destined to remain an absolute bar against military cooperation?

Ongoing violence in Zaolzie prevented the plebiscite from being conducted. Could the French have provided security forces to allow for a safe vote? France seems like the only power with an interest in the situation, wanting to be on good terms with both nations for alliance reasons.
